Personal: Virginia Dunnings wed Frank Steward, having met while attending Hampton University during the mid 1940's. Together, they bore 2 children, Gary and Cassandra Steward. Virginia majored in Home Economics and was a stay at home Mom until the children graduated from high school. In 1966, she started working for the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department and after many years of service, retired happily. Frank sadly passed away in 1992 and Virginia passed in 2004.
