Personal: Anna Steward was one of the 4 kids produced from the marriage of Gustavous Steward and his wife Winona Coleman. She was the Oldest of the Steward children, followed in age by Frank, Mary, and another child named Winona. She attended Columbus East High School and later completed her Masters in English Literature at Virginia Union College in Norfolk, Virginia. Anna is a Retired Teacher for the Columbus Public School System. She tought various Elementary, Jr., and High Schools throughout Central Ohio. Some of her other accomplishments include: Appearing on several Local T.V. stations for singing appearances and Educational Lectures, Pianist, Black Historian, Author, and several more affiliations! She later married a gentleman by the name of David Bishop. They went on to have 1 son whose name is Kirk Bishop. As of this day, poor health and an assortment of other financial difficulties have placed dear Anna in the Thurber Village Rest Home near the Short North Section of Columbus, Ohio. She passed away there the week of February 10, 2004.
